A Painting A Day by Diana Marshall said...

Hi Cheryl,
You are certainly making good use of those grapes I'm trying to decide whether I like todays subtle shadows better than yesterdays more punchy ones. They both are good in different ways. Shadows I find are difficult I tend not to make them dark enough, though squinting helps. I have been looking at Carole Marines blog and she paints her shadows very dramatically for the most part, I wish I could paint like her..
Happy painting
Diana

Trying to decide which of these three grape paintings is my favorite. This morning, I'm leaning towards the one with the white pitcher.

And white really is fun to paint? I think it would be hard to figure out how to--without it just being flat.
