Iceline View

8"x10"
Oil on Canvas Panel
$99.00
Last summer we took a beautiful vacation to Banff, Yoho, and Kootenai national Parks, B.C.
We took a grueling hike on the Iceline Trail in Yoho. The trail climbs up near glaciers and has spectacular views. This is where we stopped for lunch.

Pink Peony

Oil on Gallery wrapped Canvas
6"x6"
Sold
When painting flowers it's always a challenge to capture all those delicate colors and petals. The loose impressionistic look that I strive for can so quickly be lost by overworking it. This was my second attempt to get it right, and I'm close to being satisfied.

Moment of Hope

Oil on gallery wrapped canvas
6"x6"
$45.00
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

Grapes and Green Tablecloth

Oil on canvas
8"x10"
$99.00

This was a fun still life. The colors were so rich. It's surprising how many different purples there are in grapes. I also really liked the shadows of the grapes. I thought of toning them down a little but I liked the drama of them.

Grapes and White Pitcher

Oil on gallery wrapped canvas
6"x6"
$45.00
White things are always fun to paint, so are grapes. I bought these grapes to put in my kids school lunches, but they were so pretty I had to paint them first. I think that the purple goes well with the gray-green background. Red and green are complimentary colors, so these red-purple grapes really stand out against the dull green. Painting the shadow with a purple-green gives the painting a nice harmonious look.

Moment of Serenity

Oil on gallery wrapped canvas
6"x6"
$45.00
Awhile ago I did a picture , Moments of Reflection, that was one of my favorites. It was similar to this one. To me it's a vital part of my day to take a few moments to reflect, to relax with some tea, a journal, or an inspirational book. This time is what helps me to keep my life on track. It's a time for me to remember to be grateful for all the good things in my life, to let go of stress and remember all that's beautiful in the world. It's a time when I reflect on my ideals and examine myself to see where I need to be more patient, compassionate and forgiving, or where I need to work harder, or when to cut myself some slack. It helps me to refocus on the things in life that really matter. So here is my second painting in my Moments series, to commemorate these meaningful moments.

Purple Primrose 1 and 2

Purple Primrose 2
Oil on Canvas
8"x10"
$99.00
Here are two versions of Purple Primrose. I like to experiment a lot when I paint and try different color combinations and compositions. I painted the bottom primrose first and it is a more accurate representation of my actual plant. I like the colors in it but I wanted to stretch the composition farther. I wanted to make the negative space more interesting and fill up the space of the canvas more, and to make the lights and darks more dramatic. So I painted Purple Primrose 2. I simplified the leaves of the plant and stretched them out, painted it closer up and changed the background. I like both paintings, the subtleness and the pot of the first and the composition and liveliness of the second. What do you think?

Pink Primrose

Oil on Canvas
8"x10"
NFS
When I went to the grocery store last week, I was greeted by these cheerful signs of spring, so I bought three of them and of course I had to paint them. I tried to keep my brushstrokes loose and impressionistic and was satisfied with the result.

Peppers 3

Oil on Canvas
6"x6"
$45.00
This is the last of my pepper series. I think they would make a nice set. Painting this series and my onion series has been a fun experiment in color, shape and composition. I like the vibrant color of these.
