Original Oil Painting of Mount Hood

"Timberline Trail"
Oil on Canvas
8"x10"
$80.00
Here is another painting from our trip around Mt. Hood. This trail was so rugged and beautiful through these open meadows with the mountain looming overhead. I'm learning to simplify shapes and values to make a stronger composition while still trying to maintain the distinctiveness of a scene.

Daily Oil Painting of Yellow Apples

"Apple Trio"
Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
6"x6"
$35.00
Here is one more apple painting. I usually like painting with a darker background, but decided to do this one different. I like the simplicity of it and how the blue shadows compliment the yellow apples.

Basket of Apples

Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
9"x12"
$110.00
My sister-in-law recently brought us a box of apples when they came for a visit. That's why I've done all the apple paintings lately. They live in apple country in Washington. I love all the hues of yellow, green, and even red in them.

Olympic Sunset

Oil on Gallery Wrapped canvas
8"x10"
$80.00
Last spring, Andrew and I took a backpacking trip in the Olympic National Park on the coast of Washington state. It is a rugged rocky coast. It was a great trip. There are beautiful campsites overlooking the ocean. We got to watch this sunset right from our camp. The sky is so changeable I love to paint it. I find it a challenge though, the shapes and values can be so complex.

Red Tulips

Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
12"x12"
$145.00
These bright tulips are from my backyard. It was a beautiful summer like day, perfect for some en plein air( french for in the open air) painting. I wanted to capture these in their prime and was glad that I had the time today.

Point No Point Lighthouse

Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
9"x12"
$110.00

This picturesque little lighthouse is on the Kitsap Peninsula in Washington state. I always thought that Point No Point was a strange name. I guess it was given this name because of a geological optical illusion. When looking from the north and south you can see this narrow spit jutting out into the water but viewed from the east, you can't see it at all.

Mountain Stream

Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
9"x12"
$110.00
I really enjoyed painting this one. The red flowers in the middle background gave it just the right focal point and compliment to all the green. It looks like the perfect place to take a break while on a hike.

Daisies in a Blue Vase

Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
5"x7"
Sold
Finally we are having spring like weather here in Idaho. Everything is leafing out and blooming. As a flower lover, I particularly enjoy this time of year. Although we don't have daises yet, I'm in the mood to paint flowers. I was really happy with the composition and the color harmony of this painting. All the different hues of blue are accented with the yellow flower centers.
