Missing My Dad

How have we gone on six months without you, how can we go farther still into days and years that you will never know? I miss you so very much, but I wouldn't trade any of my tears for all the joy we had with you while you were here.
Ascension

And if I go,

While you are still here…

Know that I live on,

Vibrating to a different measure

-behind a thin veil you cannot see through.

You will not see me,

So you must have faith.

I wait for the time when we can soar together again,

-both aware of each other.

Until then, live your life to its fullest.

And when you need me

Just whisper my name in your heart

…I will be there.

Original Still Life Oil Painting of Book and Coffee Cup

"To Ponder"
Oil on canvas panel
8"x10"
$80.00

"I think that all artists, regardless of degree of talent, are a painful, paradoxical combination of certainty and uncertainty, of arrogance and humility, constantly in need of reassurance, and yet with a stubborn streak of faith in their validity, no mater what...And I think, too, and possibly most important, that there is a faith simply in the validity of art; when we talk about ourselves as being part of the company of such people as Mozart or van Gogh or Dostoevsky, it has nothing to do with comparisons, or pitting talent against talent; it has everything to do with a way of looking at the universe."
